Each acting class at the Vancouver Film School has the opportunity to work with director Larry Kent, a pioneer in the Canadian Indie filmmaking scene.
Working with the students, Larry creates two or three person improvisation scenes. Then, on location, and using a two camera setup, each scene is flimed through multiple takes and story adjustments. I receive these tapes and get to work. These are probably my most challenging projects as each take is different, continuity varies and the story keeps evolving during filming. However, the performances that Larry is able to pull from the actors, and the intensity of the scene situations, make this great little short films. We've done about 50 of them so far.
