Damon, a young man who cannot manage his anger, finds himself in custody, with a dilemma. Life and death hang in the balance. Broken House was written and shot by 'Unit X', a group of residents at the Burnaby Youth Secure Custody Centre, under the direction of Larry Lynn. I edited and sound designed this great, tragic 30 minute film, working with the inmates and Larry through every step of post production. May 14, 2006 - Broken House has won the Leo Award 2006 for Best Short Drama. It was also nominated for Best Direction in a Short Drama (Larry Lynn), Best Screenwriting in a Short Drama (Unit X), and Best Picture Editing in a Short Drama (Jim Norman). |
